The CBS™ High Security Sperm Straw with braided plug is designed for the cryopreservation of human sperm. Made from a transparent ionomeric resin that is biocompatible and chemically inert, the straw’s high surface to volume ratio provides improved and homogenous heat exchange over the total volume of the straw. Available in two sizes, High Security Sperm Straws are designed for use with SYMS-type sealers. This fully closed vitrification system eliminates any possibility of cross-contamination to the specimen or its environment.20 or 100 straws (packaged in blisters of 5)

- CBS™ 0.3 ml straw features two compartments separated by a white plug: 1) compartment containing semen with a capacity of 0.3 ml, and 2) compartment that accommodates the coloured identification rod and is used for holding when handling liquid nitrogen
- CBS™ 0.5 ml straw features the same technical specifications as the 0.3 ml straw, but has a capacity of 0.5 ml and boasts a coloured external plug surface
- For large-scale application (for example, sperm banks), straws are filled with PACE, MAPI or DIVA automated filling and sealing machines
- Sealing straws with a CBS SYMS sealer ensures an impervious and high security seal
- Leak-proof and shatter-proof, guaranteed all the way down to LN2 temperatures
- Mechanically resistant to pressures of up to 150 kg/cm2 and indestructible under normal conditions of use
- Compatible with all nitrogen freezers and containers, both liquid and vapor phase as well as ultra-low temperature mechanical freezers
- Requires a sterile filling nozzle and a micro-aspirator or a syringe equipped with a special connector are used to manually fill straws
