• Alpha‑Tec’s QC-Beads™ are a solution of latex beads that can be used to establish controls during semen analysis. Each ready-to-use kit has known “high” and “low” concentrations of QC-Beads™ that standardize counting parameters. QC-Beads™ can be used to analyze a technician’s manual counting technique using a microscope, or to measure the performance of an automated semen analyzer’s optical system and image processing. Before performing any sperm counting, a daily quality control check using the two concentrations of QC-Beads™ is recommended. Product packaging may differ from image.

2 X 4 ml vials (4 ml of each concentration)

    • Kit contains two known concentrations of latex beads suspended in aqueous solution
    • Ready-to-use
    • FDA approved for in vitro diagnostic use
    • Store at room temperature
    • 24-month shelf-life
  • Alpha‑Tec’s LeucoScreen™ is a simple assay for detecting granulocytes in semen. Elevated levels of white blood cells in semen, also known as leuco-cytospermia, is associated with the production of residual oxidative stress (ROS), which affects sperm parameters such as motility, morphology, and DNA integrity. LeucoScreen™ uses a staining method to visualize the presence of the enzyme peroxidase in cells, in order to determine overall semen quality. Product packaging may differ from image.

    50 tests / kit

    • Simple visualization of granulocytes in semen samples
    • Minimal preparation involved, all reagents are ready to use as is
    • Requires a single step, with immediate results
    • Colorimetric result with visible contrast for easy interpretation
    • Provides a minimum of 50 and as many as 300 determinations per kit, depending on use
    • Does not require a blood specimen as a control, a peroxidase control is included in each kit
    • 18-month shelf life
  • Alpha‑Tec’s FructoScreen Kit measures the amount of fructose in seminal plasma using a photometric method. Ejaculated spermatozoa are primarily powered by fructose produced in the seminal vesicles and found in seminal plasma. The concentration of fructose in ejaculate can provide information about the secretory function of the vas deferens, and/or the possibility of low androgen levels. FructoScreen produces a yellow-orange colour to indicate the presence of fructose, and its intensity directly correlates with increasing concentrations of fructose in seminal plasma. Both the concentration and total amount of fructose present can be calculated from this point. Product packaging may differ from image.

    96 Tests / Kit

    • Easy two-step protocol gives results in approximately 40 minutes
    • Colorimetric result with visible contrast that can be quantified
    • Each kit includes all five reagents required for test completion
    • 18-month shelf life from date of manufacture
  • Alpha‑Tec’s MarScreen® is a quick and simple assay for testing fresh semen samples. Using a combination of antiserum to human IgA, IgG, and bead-conjugated IgG antibodies, MarScreen® can test for the presence or absence of antisperm antibodies (ASA) on the surface of sperm within minutes, making it an ideal tool for screening for immune-mediated male infertility or unexplained infertility in couples. MarScreen® can be used with direct and indirect testing methods. For direct testing, fresh ejaculate is used. Indirect testing requires a patient blood sample or serum. Product packaging may differ from image.

    70 tests / kit

    • Available for 2 different antibodies: IgA or IgG
    • Test can be performed and analyzed in less than 10 minutes (faster preparation than ImmunoSpheres®)
    • Suitable for lower sperm count/motility samples compared to the ImmunoSpheres® test kit
    • Compatible with both direct and indirect testing methods: use fresh, unwashed semen samples for direct testing, or patient blood / serum for indirect testing
    • Kits have a built-in positive control
    • Uniform coloured beads for easy-to read results
    • 18-month shelf life

  • Alpha‑Tec’s ImmunoSpheres® are a Immunobead Test (IBT) used to detect the presence or absence of antisperm antibodies (ASA) when screening for immune-mediated male infertility or unexplained infertility in couples. Four ImmunoSphere® reagent kits are available to detect distinct anti-sperm immunoglobulin isotypes: Anti IgA, Anti IgG, Anti IgM and Anti Ig (Heavy and Light chain). Both direct and indirect testing methods can be used with ImmunoSpheres®.  Direct testing requires spermatozoa to be washed to remove any free immunoglobulins in the seminal plasma. Indirect testing can be used for reproductive fluids such as seminal plasma, follicular fluid, cervical mucus, as well as serum. A positive test result is defined as ≥ 20% of motile spermatozoa binding to the ImmunoSpheres®; a clinically significant test result produces ≥ 50% of motile spermatozoa being bound. Product packaging may differ from image.

    100 tests / kit

    • A reliable, specific test for the detection of sperm-bound antibodies and sperm antibodies in reproductive fluids and serum
    • Allows the determination of antibody class attached to spermatozoa, the localization on the spermatozoa, and the proportion of spermatozoa coated with antibody
    • Produces results in less than 30 mins
    • Monodispersed, does not clump together
    • Latex bead size = uniform 3.0 μm
    • Spermatozoa must be washed prior to testing
    • Requires a centrifuge and a bright field or phase contrast microscope
    • Bead colours: IgA (blue), IgG (blue), IgM (blue) Ig(H&L) (white)
    • 18-month shelf life from date of manufacture
    • Store reagents at 4°C

  • Alpha‑Tec Serum Control Kits are used to establish controls during antisperm antibody assays. The Serum Control Kit’s positive serum contains IgA and IgG antibodies, whereas its negative serum contains no detectable antibodies against sperm. Using a positive control during direct sperm antibody testing can overcome the impracticality of using antibody-positive sperm specimens as positive controls. Using a negative control during testing is also recommended. Both Sperm Antibody Positive A/G Serum and Sperm Antibody Negative Serum have been tested and found to be negative for HIV antibodies and hepatitis B surface antigens, however negative results do not guarantee absence of these viruses. Product packaging may differ from image.

1 kit (1 ml of each serum)

    • Suitable as a control for both direct and indirect sperm antibody assays
    • Ready to use
    • Serum is stable, heat inactivated, and undiluted
    • 18-month shelf life
