LifeAire Systems
LifeAire Systems was founded on the recognition that ambient air quality significantly influences the outcomes of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) procedures. External factors like construction, vehicle exhaust, and seasonal changes introduced embryotoxic compounds into the IVF laboratory environment; Dr. Kathryn C. Worrilow, the founder of LifeAire, collaborated with experts in chemistry, engineering, and physics to design a patented air purification system. LifeAire’s multi-stage technology remediates airborne chemicals and biological pathogens, offering IVF laboratories enhanced control over their air quality, thereby optimizing clinical results.

The LifeAire Aire~VOC and Aire~IVF are specialized in-duct air purification systems designed to enhance air quality in sensitive environments. The Aire~VOC system is developed to address the presence of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that could impact patients, healthcare workers, and processes that are sensitive to air quality, like cell gene therapy and embryogenesis. It utilizes advanced purification technology adapted from LifeAire's full-scale systems to capture and neutralize VOCs effectively. The Aire~VOC unit is designed for straightforward installation and is a cost-effective option for enhancing air quality. It can be retrofitted into existing ductwork or included in new constructions, with indoor and all-weather options for flexibility. This system is offered in three standard sizes with air volume outputs of 1000, 2000, and 4000 CFM to suit different needs. The Aire~IVF system is tailored for in vitro fertilization facilities and aims to eliminate airborne pathogens that can interfere with embryogenesis. The Aire~IVF combines multi-staged molecular media and UV technologies to remove up to 99.99% of biological and chemical contaminants from both source and return air in a single pass. It is clinically demonstrated to enhance IVF outcomes by providing air quality that surpasses typical in-room or in-duct systems. Suitable for both new builds and retrofits, the Aire~IVF also comes with indoor and all-weather configurations and is available in three sizes for different airflow requirements. Both systems align with stringent air quality specifications, maintaining Total VOCs under 100 ppb, biologicals below 1 cfu/m3, particulate levels at ISO Class 6, and producing no ozone, ensuring they meet the high standards required for sensitive medical and research applications.

Fertitech Canada, in collaboration with LifeAire, is proud to offer an innovative air quality assessment and monitoring service designed to enhance outcomes in the IVF space. The Aire~Analysis program is dedicated to identifying potentially harmful sources of airborne contamination in your laboratory, thereby removing air quality as a variable that can impact consistent and successful embryogenesis. This unique approach to air quality assessment focuses on identifying and understanding the specific Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) present in the laboratory environment, recognizing that different VOCs have varying degrees of toxicity and influence on clinical outcomes. The assessment includes a preliminary examination of air quality using TO-15 canister testing, which captures a wide range of VOCs, providing not just room-scale concentrations but also positional information about contamination sources. In partnership with LifeAire, Fertitech Canada is committed to bringing cutting-edge air quality assessment tools, such as the Aire~Analysis program, to Canadian IVF laboratories.
- Comprehensive air quality assessment using TO-15 negative pressure canister testing.
- Unique EBTOX scoring system to quantify the toxicity of each VOC and its impact on embryogenesis.
- Detailed insights into specific VOCs, including their partitioning kinetics profiles and relative toxicity levels.
- A thorough report containing actionable insights for the removal of identified embryotoxic pollutant sources.
- Personal Q&A session to discuss the findings and recommendations for improving air quality in your laboratory.
