The SpermFunc® Vitality Kit by BRED Life Science is an assessment tool for the measurement and characterization of healthy, motile sperm in a semen sample. It works by identifying spermatazoa with or without altered membranes. Healthy sperm with intact cell membranes repel the eosin-nigrosin test stain, identifying the ‘dead’ or nonviable sperm with permeable membranes in samples. For samples with low motility, this kit can be used to differentiate between live and dead sperm cells, or to verify the membrane structure and integrity of immotile sperm.
